[THE LORE]
In a future, maybe not so distant, maybe not so close, earth, the planet previously owned by humans, is being strangled of every resource it can offer.
The aliens that fester took control and the few hairless monkeys that remain are inprisoned, too smart to let frollock amock with the animals.
The very same smarts that brought their own downfall.
The communal cages are locked and guarded by their own creation. The creation who they gave their intelligence to. The monster who brought the aliens to this planet.
That darn AI, we gave verything to it.
Make sure the last thing they see is light.
[THE GAME]
LASER CHARGE is a relentless Shmup autoscroller, you don't have to kill the enemies to proceed, except the boss. Think of it as Flappy Bird and Hotline Miami combined... I know, rad!
I made this game in a month as my first original game, inspired by the GMTK Jam 24. All the assets were made by yours truly, except for a couple of SFX outsourced from Pixabay and pixelated a bit.
There's no powerups, bullet time, checkpoints or anything to make this easy. You have a parry and a shrink ray, that can be fully charged two times.
Can you make it to the final boss and beat him?
There's no reward at the end but the glory of being the best Shmup player to ever live.
